Part of what I do in my current job is to manage Chromedevices and I have found that if you take your time you can setup the Management Console to manage the browser on Linux or other OS's just as easily. The difference is that CloudReady can be attached to the management console system so the device can be managed similar to a Chromebook. Other processors are not supported for Linux at this time but you can use the devices as long as you want, just will not receive updates but they will run.Īlso FYI, Neverware CloudReady will is not designed to install on Chromebooks, it is designed to take older standard hardware and emulate a Chromebook on it. Just an FYI for everyone, from research I have been doing, to install Linux on them they need to have an Intel processor to get the BIOS update needed for the support of the new OS. ![]() My company has about 150 that just went out as well so looking at rebuilding them too. I have a couple that just went out of support and when the new ones are all set I will be installing Mint on them most likely. ![]() I just bought new ones for Christmas for myself and my kids (22 and 19) for them to use in school.
